University of Georgia’s dog experiments

The University of Georgia has been experimenting vaccines on beagles in a study that involves the ultimate killing of the dogs.  In fact, did to their docile, trusting nature, beagles are the breed most commonly tested on.

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), a division of the National Institutes of Health, run by Anthony Fauci is responsible for this.

They directed $424,455 to the University of Georgia in September 2020 to infect 28 beagles with disease-causing parasites.

This infection has no cure, so after three months of being infected, these dogs are then killed, and their blood examined.

Beagles are sensitive, intelligent and loyal creatures, neither they nor any other dog breed should be subjected this is cruel and inhumane treatment.

This experiment started in November of 2020 after being conducted on other animals. The study recorded pain responses from the beagles being tested in this needless, supplementary study.

So many beagles have suffered as a result of this useless testing already, and we must stop further abuse of our loyal companions.

The Environmental Protection Agency has already committed to stopping all testing on mammals by 2035, but means 14 more years of animals suffering in the name of science.  According the the USDA, a 50,000 dogs were experimented on in US testing facilities in 2020!

There are Universities all over the country conducting these same experiments on dogs- we must do something to protect our canine companions – so   please join me in signing this petition to stop this torture on dogs immediately.

35 Days without water and food……. SHAME ON Nova Southeastern University.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SIGN AND SHARE. I don’t get how such cruelty can be done with no punishment.

AUG 23, 2021 —

Today marks 35 days without water and food for the cats of Nova Southeastern University. I personally visited the Campus Support Building on the NSU campus on 8-22-2021. I saw about 10 malnourished and dehydrated cats under vehicles. They are looking very skinny. Two are extremely skinny and two more kittens were observed. There was no accessible water or food in the area. There are about 100 to 150 cats in different areas throughout the 300 acres. We will be documenting more sick cats on social media until NSU implements humane management plans.

Please call and email NSU. Be aware they will repeat the PR nonsense of ‘misinformation’ and the press, the employees and the activists are lying. Everything documented by employees, the media and activists is fact-based.

BUSTED !! sobecats BUSTED !!

A friend of mine asked mine to check on that colony about 2 years ago because everytime she was going there the cats seemed so hungry.

Per her request, I’ve been checking on them every week.

Unfortunately I can only go on week ends.

Here is the picture of one cat that worries me a lot:

Last Sunday I met that woman who go there once a month. She posted this. I know it’s probably not gonna do much but it feels good to see that more and more people are reporting those organizations who take people’s money and let those cats die.

It really feels good.

She also told me there was no feeder on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

I was able to go last Wednesday and I felt I was the messiah there like most times I go see them.

I hope he will make it till I can bring him to my home.

VICTORY! PAWS Act becomes law

Thanks to Canine Companions advocates like you, long awaited legislation that will positively impact veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) was signed into law by President Biden today.

Learn more about grassroots advocacy and how to use your voice to have real impact by attending our Grassroots Advocacy 101 webinar on Thursday, September 9. Learn more and register here.

President Biden signed H.R. 1448, the Puppies Assisting Wounded Servicemembers (PAWS) for Veterans Therapy Act. The act allows the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to provide service dogs and provisions for their care to assist veterans with PTSD. According to the VA Suicide Prevention Annual Report, nearly 18 service members take their own lives each day as a result of these internal scars.

Canine Companions partnered with the VA to provide service dogs in a four-year study on the efficacy of trained service dogs for PTSD. We placed a total of 59 service dogs and 40 emotional support dogs with study veterans, totaling 45% of all dogs placed through the study. The results were staggering – veterans paired with service dogs showed less suicidal ideation and more improvement in mental health than those paired with emotional support dogs.

The results of the previous study laid the groundwork for future legislation – like H.R. 1448 – to further assist veterans utilizing service dogs to mitigate symptoms of PTSD.

  • The VA now has the authority to use trained service dogs as a treatment option for veterans with PTSD – an option that was not available despite the profound results of the previous study.
  • The act will allow veterans with PTSD and other mental health diagnoses to be eligible for VA service dog veterinary insurance benefits, which also covers equipment and travel expenses associated with service dog ownership.

For service members relying on a task-trained service dogs for PTSD, H.R. 1448 is a giant leap towards supporting veterans and their service dogs in an equitable way.

Thank you for your commitment to veterans and access to service dogs. Your voice matters! Subscribe to Canine Companions advocacy updates.

Ban Horse-Drawn Carriages in Milwaukee

Instead of running free in pastures and grazing on tall grass, horses are forced to pull oversized carriages in a busy city where they are subjected to injury and pain.

There are countless examples of horses collapsing from dehydration and heat exhaustion, developing respiratory ailments from breathing in exhaust fumes and developing debilitating leg problems from walking on hard surfaces; horses are sometimes even killed. There are also countless incidents in which carriages have been hit by cars which have resulted in death and injury to the horses.

Horse drawn carriages are also very dangerous for humans with the countless unexpected and dangerous situations that can happen while being on a horse drawn carriage. Horses are animals and we cannot always predict what they might do out of fear.

All of this can be avoided by banning horse-drawn carriages. It simply is unnecessary, unsafe, and outdated. Instead of using horses who feel fatigue, pain and fear, we suggest a transition to electric horseless carriages in the city of Milwaukee. This is a cruelty free way to explore the city and it also is eco-friendly!  Please sign this petition and share to help us ban horse-drawn carriages in Milwaukee. As a city, we can do much better! We just need your help.
